Ayetri Roy is an aspiring contemporary artist based in New York. A feminist at heart, she promotes social issues through her paintings, which are mainly themed by strong, independent women. Occasionally, she also paints about the day-to-day things she encounters in her life. She has hopped around the world quite a bit.
She is originally from Rangamati in Bangladesh, the daughter of the Chakma Chief, Raja Devasish Roy, and the late Rani Tatu Roy. In her childhood, she moved to the capital, Dhaka, to study at Green Herald School. She then moved around between Dhaka, Bangkok and Kodaikanal (India) to finally complete her high school studies in IB. Currently, she is pursuing her BBA at Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York.
